The 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Nelson – who performs simply as Estrella – was the winner in the solo/duo category and her first record was recorded at Roundhead Studios with producer Rodney Fisher.

New recording, reissues from Tiki Taane and Salmonella Dub

Tiki Taane and Salmonella Dub – who both have new albums set for release next year – have teamed up on the single ‘Ignite’.

The record was sparked by their 25th anniversary reunion shows earlier this year and coincides with the release of a deluxe box set containing 10 remastered 12″ vinyl albums, together with a 40 page pictorial book documenting the bands history since 1993.

‘Soma Dreams’ is the first single to be released to be Rhian Sheehan’s new album A Quiet Divide, which is released on October 5, via Loop Recordings.

According to the electonica maestro, the track – co-written with his wife Raashi and co-produced by Jol Mulholland– encapsulates the nostalgic feel of the album and was originally written on his baritone ukulele.

‘Bad Idea’ – which debuted at #9 on the NZ Hot Singles Chart – draws on the singer-songwriter’s struggle with self harm and was co-written with Grammy Award winner Emily Warren.

For the video, Theia wanted to use skating as a metaphor for life and set out to find an all-girl skate crew to realise her vision.

The single, which was co-produced with 10A (aka Tenei Kesha) and recorded at his home studio in St Albans, is describe by the singer as a “song is about unpacking the pain as opposed to telling the world how to fix themselves”.
