in News by

Some of New Zealand’s best known folk and country acts will share the stage with an eclectic line-up of international guests for the annual Southern Fork Americana Festival.

This year’s event will be the fifth and will run from October 5-12 at Spark Arena’s side venue in Auckland.

The homegrown contingent is headed up by Tui Award winner Reb Fountain, along with fellow female songstresses Holly Arrowsmith and Emily Fairlight. There will also be shows from psych troubadour Arthur Ahbez and singer-songwriter Tom Cunliffe, plus Christchurch’s Americana favourites The Eastern.

The international guests are rising country stars Margo White – who is signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records – and Courtney Marie Andrews, plus legendary swamp rocker Tony Joe White, NY-based guitar ace Steve Gunn and folk traditionalist Willie Watson.

Presales begin today August 16. The full line-up for Southern Fork Americana Festival is:

October 5: Willie Watson + Holly Arrowsmith; October 6: Steve Gunn + Arthur Ahbez; October 10: Tony Joe White; October 12: Reb Fountain + Tom Cunliffe; October 13: The Eastern + Emily Fairlight; October 17: Margo Price + Courtney Marie Andrews.
