in News by

Alae has confirmed an October 26 release date for their eagerly anticipated debut album Henry St.

The newly-minted four piece – songwriting duo Alex Farrell-Davey and Allister Meffan have been joined fulltime in the band by bassist Marika Hodgson and drummer Jayden Lee –have also announced a national tour, which will follow the release of the album and continue through into December.

In addition, Alae have shard the third single from Henry St. ‘All Gived Up’ was actually the first song written by Farrell-Davey and Meffan, and was first released in 2016.

“For two years now we’ve been playing it live, developing it and wondering if we could have done better,” Farrell-Davey says. “With the addition of Marika and Jayden to the mix, we felt as though the song, and the band, has grown so much that we couldn’t not re-record it. We can now give ‘All Gived Up’ the treatment it truly deserves.”

Henry St, which will also be available as a limited edition vinyl release, was produced by Jol Mulholland and also includes the singles ‘Too Strung Up’ – which has racked up more than 2 millions streams to date – and ‘Stone Cold’.

Tour details are: November 8: Totara Street, Tauranga; November 9: Caroline, Wellington; November 17: The Wunder Bar, Christchurch; December 1: The Anthology Lounge, Auckland; December 8: The Boathouse, Nelson.
