Kiwis make The Great Escape

in Industry by

Four New Zealand acts have been confirmed for this year’s The Great Escape.

The UK festival – which attracts more than 3500 music professionals– runs from May 8-11 in Brighton and is an important showcase event for NZ artists.

This year’s Kiwi line-up includes alt popsters The Beths, who will be looking to build on the international acclaim for their debut album Future Me Hates Me, which was released in August.

They will be joined in Brighton but Dunedin indie faves Soaked Oats, who are just about to embark on an Australian tour to promote their new single ‘Shuggah Doom’ and The Veils’ Finn Andrews, who will release his debut solo album One Piece At A Time on March 15.

Completing the NZ line-up are Dax Project, who have just released a new version of their hit ‘Woke Up Late’, which feature US singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld.

Running alongside The Great Escape will be the annual TGE Conference, which will once again feature a wide range of panels and training sessions.

The main themes this year are music marketing and digital dollars, which will examine issues such as blockchain and recent changes to international copyright legislation.
